Florence C. Cook, 85, of Cottonwood died February 6. She was born to Rchard and Ida Payne on May 12, 1918 in Ada, Oklahoma but lived almost all of her life in this area. Mrs. Cook attended First Assembly of God Church in Cottonwood. She did floral work and in home nursing. She was an extraordinary cook and pie baker. An avid singer, she also loved reading and swimming. She lived for her family. Her husband, Fred Cook and two sons, Jim Lawrence Cook and George Ray Cook, preceded her in death. She is survived by four daughters, Betty Jo Rorabaugh and Barbara Helen Cook, both of Phoenix, Effie Joyce Rose and Lois Frances Duvall, both of Cottonwood; two sons, Jack Fred Cook of Showlow and Ronald Jay Cook of Superior; forty-one grandchildren and forty-eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11 in the Westcott Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 12 in the First Assembly of God Church of Cottonwood at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, 750 E. Mingus Ave, Cottonwood, 86326.
