Floyd Leroy Garver, 88, resident of Cottonwood, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. He was born July 5, 1919 in Perry, Oklahoma. After attending Bible College for 2 years, he was ordained by the Assemblies of God in 1944-afterwhich, he worked and retired as a clergyman. He lived and loved his position as a clergyman; studying the Bible and bringing many to Christ. He also enjoyed singing and reciting poetry. He leaves behind three daughters, Glenda Weaver with her husband, Raymond of Chandler, Delores Staker of Cottonwood, and Linda Clark with her husband, Bobby also of Cottonwood; two brothers, Charles Garver of Texas, and Neal Garver of Missouri; one sister, Mary Allbaugh of California; as well as, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on January 19, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Cottonwood, where Floyd was proud to be a member.
