Fonda Mae Toms, 81, passed away January 8, 2012. She was born November 29, 1930 in Clarence, Iowa to Samuel and Velma (Bower) Long. She graduated high school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; then went on to marry the love of her life, Harry L. Toms on May 6, 1950. They were married for 47 years until his death in 1997. Fonda loved life and was passionate about her role as a wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was so cute, funny and adorable and everyone loved her. She was a kind and gentle soul who had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was sweet and caring and very generous. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Fonda was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Toms; her grandson, Matthew A. Petty and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her four sons, Douglas (Kimberly) Toms, Brad Toms, Scott Toms and Todd Toms, all of Phoenix, AZ; her daughter, Sammi (Jeffery) Arden of Clarkdale, AZ; her sisters Mavis Spry of Tucson, AZ, Elizabeth (Wilbur) Bentrott of Tucson, AZ, Patricia Wachal of Alburnett, IA, and Jackie (Joe) Riegert of Tucson, AZ; and her brothers, Max (Dorothy) Long and Monty (Pam) Long, both of St. Johns, AZ; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
