Francis Charles Touponce, 84, resident of Camp Verde passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. He was born August 5, 1924 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts; the son of Charles and Theresa Touponce. He proudly served his country during WWII as a Private First Class in the United States Army and received two purple hearts for his dedication and bravery. Professionally, Francis worked as an Oil Burner Technician with John B. Hull. He was also known as an electrician, home builder and a wonderful musician-having played in a band for 20 years. Francis is preceded in death by two daughters, Sylvia and Melinda. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Christine Touponce of Camp Verde; his son, Francis Charles Touponce, Jr. with his wife, Beverly of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; two daughters, Roberta J. Palmer with her husband, Wayne of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and Betsy A. Sicurello with her husband, Robert of Camp Verde. He was also the grandfather of 10 and the great-grandfather of 19. A Visitation will be held at Westcott Funeral Home-Camp Verde Chapel on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 4:00-6:00pm. A Graveside Service with full military honors will follow Friday morning, October 24, 2008 at 9:30am at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, located in Cavecreek.
