Frank Arthur New, 76, of Camp Verde, Arizona passed away suddenly on Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Mayo Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mr. New was born in Clarkdale, Arizona on March 18, 1930. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sicily, and the USS Wasp both aircraft carriers During his life, he seved as a law enforcement officer for the Department of Public Safety. He served for 21 years in the communities of Phoenix, Apache Junction and Camp Verde before his retirement in January of 1982. During his time of service in Camp Verde, he also served as the fire Chief for the Camp Verde Fire Department from 1969 to 1979. He enjoyed riding horses and raising fallow deer. He enjoyed woodworking and he was a metal fabricator and welder. He was always happy to help people in any way that he could. He was preceded in death by his first wife Aliene Sullivan New. Mr. New is survived by his wife of 17 years, Juanetta New, a daughter, Roxy Ann Blakely of Phoenix, three step-children, Linda Myers (Chuck), David Zellner (Cindy) and Dan Zellner (Kathy) all of Camp Verde; a sister, Leona Ryan (Tom) of Flagstaff, 2 nephews, 7 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20th at 10:00 AM at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, Arizona.
