Gloyd (John) Beshore, age 83, passed away January 7. He was a resident of Cottonwood Ranch. John was born on a large farm in Bates County, Missouri. He was attending college when the war broke out. After enlisting in the Army Air Corp he served as flight engineer, flying 191 combat missions over Nazi held Europe in 1944 and 1945. 46 missions were in B24 Bombers and 145 missions in B17 Flying Fortress. He was awarded 7 Bronze stars and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war, John served as controller and computer expert for several Fortune 500 companies. in 1980 John and his wife Bobbie bought and operated a cattle ranch in southern Utah, near Zion National Park. They ran the ranch until 1996. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bobbie and children from a former marriage: David Beshore, Susan Ruddell, Connie Beshore and Karen Benson and 8 grandchildren. Cremation will take place with a private service. Westcott Funeral Home handled these arrangements.
