Gene Bennett Lusk, 81, of Cottonwood, passed away January 13, 2016. He was born October 10, 1934 in Waverly, Coffey County, Kansas, the son of Howell B. Lusk and Emma E. Bennett Lusk. He was a graduate of the schools of Edgerton, Kansas. He received his Bachelor degree from Kansas University and his Masters degree in Science from Wayne State. Mr. Lusk served his country as a specialist in the Army Reserves and as a rifle instructor. His career was as an Industrial Hygienist for General Motors Corporation, retiring in 1990. He was treasurer of the Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society. Genealogy and family were some of his hobbies. He enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada, RVing for 20 years. Mr. Lusk will be remembered as a wonderful husband of 53 years. He was a good man, father, brother, neighbor and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents Emma E. Lusk and Howell B. Lusk. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris; a son Lee W. Lusk (Della S.) of Flagstaff; three grandchildren Jay, Cole and Shane. There are no public services planned. Burial will be in Wellsville, Kansas. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family suggests smiling or singing unabashedly with those you meet in your travels.
