Genevieve W. Selander Ginger, 93, of Cottonwood died July 31, 2011. She was born May 16, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of John C, and Veronica (Plewa) Beck. She served her country in the Women\u0027s Army Corp during Wolrd War II. She received a Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon. She was a graduate of the Army Clerk Typist School. She served as director of the Red Cross Volunteers at the 97th General Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. Mrs. Selander Ginger was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Her hobbies included gardening-especially rose cultivation and painting. She was preceded in death by husbands George W. Selander and Herbert Ginger and a grandson Christopher Selander. She leaves a son James W. "Jim" Selander (Sheila) of Glendale, Arziona; two brothers, John Beck Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Richard Beck of Neenah, Wisconsin; grandson David Selander (Marcy) of Alexandria, Virginia. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Any donations in her memory may be made to a veterans organization of your choice.
