George Bergman

George Bergman, resident of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Monday, March 26, 2007. He was born May 23, 1916 to Carl Emil Bergman and Ida (Setterquist) Bergman in Duluth, Minnesota. George was a graduate of Denfeld High School. He moved from Minnesota to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1961, where he became a business owner, and then worked for and retired from the State of Arizona Department of Economic Security. After taking his retirement in 1974, George moved to Sedona, then Cottonwood. Later, George made his final home in Mesa. George was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Arizona Diamond Backs! He was very active with the Verde Valley Senior Citizens Association-delivering meals on wheels to those in need, or driving the elderly to their doctor appointments and other errands. George was always the one to be there to help another. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Eileen M. Bergman. He leaves behind his two daughters, Diane Marquez of Chandler, and Nancy Snell with her husband, Keith of Phoenix; his brother, Donald Bergman with his wife, Eileen of Duluth, Minnesota; his sister, Betty Myhrman of Mankato, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in honor of George's life on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 1:00pm at the Christ Lutheran Church in Sedona, where George was very proud to be a member.
