George F. Dill

George F. Dill, 80, of Lake Montezuma, Arizona passed away on Thursday, March 11th. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 7, 1923. Mr. Dill was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was involved in the Campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Mr. Dill was the recipient of the European American Theater Ribbon with 4 bronze stars; the Good Conduct Ribbon; the Purple Heart; the Meritorius Unit Award and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Dill was a retired sales representtive having worked for Montgomery Ward. He was a member of VFW Post #7400 in Cottonwood, Arizona and he was also a parishoner at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Camp Verde, Arizona. He enjoyed computers, golf, and painting. Mr. Dill is survived by his wife of forty six years, Barbara ; a son: Toby Dill of Davisburg, Michigan, two daughters: Judy Tolliver of Holly, Michigan; Darleen Stoops of Portland, Oregon; a sister Beulah Rodd of Richmond, Virginia; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, March 15th, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Camp Verde, at 10:00 A.M. Memorial donations may be sent to the Montezuma/Rimrock Fire Department. Westcott Funeral Home of Cottonwood, AZ assisted the family with arrangements.
