George E. Huston, a resident of Cottonwood for 21 years, passed peacefully March 4, 2010. He was born in Carthage, Ill December 1, 1924, the son of Dean and Elsie (Eversole) Huston. George served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. A one time resident of Phoenix, he worked for Perlite Industries and was owner of H \u0026 H Transmissions. In Phoenix, he belonged to the U.S. Power Squadrons AZ Chapter. George enjoyed fine art painting, antique cars, and fishing with friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post #25, the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club, the Veteran Motor Car Club of America Central Arizona Chapter, and was active in the Mingus Area Preservation Society (Maps). He is survived by his loving caring wife of 53 years, June C. Huston. They lived in Phoenix, San Diego, CA and Cottonwood, AZ. Also survived by 2 sisters Rose Emily Houston and Patricia Jean Smith. He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 1 sister. A funeral service will be held in Phoenix at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. on March 12, 2010 at 12:30pm.
