Gerald attended school from 1941-1954. He was employed as a Chevrolet mechanic and a farm drainage contractor. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Jewell, Iowa.
Gerald is preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Mae Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Veronica of Altoona, IA; son Jeffrey Joe Johnson of Jewell, IA; daughters Julie Leigh Rohloff of Jewell, IA, Jerri Lynn Childers (Bradley) of CA, Janet Lee Eslinger (Scott) of IA; sisters Carolyn Larson of MN, Mary Worthington of Webster City, IA; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at Verde Community Church in Cottonwood, AZ on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
