Gerald Meister, 88, of Cottonwood, passed away on October 1, 2012. He was born on June 22, 1924 to George William and Pearl (Hough) Meister. Gerald served his country in the Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of Seaman First Class and was awarded the distinguished service award. After the service, he was a chemical engineer for 76 Oil Co. for 23 years. Gerald was member of the Verde Valley Church of the Nazarene. He was a choir member, an usher, a board member, a Bible study host and worked in radio missions. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Annalee of Cottonwood; his daughter, Deborah Grubb of Cottonwood; his brother, Willard L. Meister of Texas and his Granddaughters, Rebecca Grubb of La Habra, CA and Amy Grubb of Paramount, CA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Verde Valley Church of the Nazarene, 1710 S.W. Hwy 260, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery.
