Harold Loyd Doty, 84, of Cottonwood died September 12 in Cottonwood. He was born November 16, 1924 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Lloyd Oscar Doty and Bessie Maude Zeck Doty. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Doty worked as a heavy equipment operator, as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service, as a truck driver and as in sales at Auto Zone in Cottonwood. He was a proud father of seven children and a member of the Verde Baptist Church. He was a lapidary, enjoyed small appliance repair and ham radio. He was preceded in death by his brother Lionel Doty. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, June Louise Doty; sons, Dennis Wayne of Tennessee, Thomas Wade of Ohio, Daniel Paul of Kentucky and Andrew Joseph of Ohio; daughters, Danella Jean of Kentucky, Rebecca Lynn of Ohio and Beth Coleen of Kentucky and ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Westcott Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 15 at 10 AM. Military honors were accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7400.
