Harriet Mendez

Harriet Mendez, 66, of Camp Verde died September 3rd. She was born January 11, 1937 in Clarkdale. Mrs. Mendez served two years on the Council of the Yavapai-Apache Nation. She served four years as Vice-Chairperson of the Yavapai-Apache Nation. She leaves her husband, Juan O. Mendez; three daughters, Diana and her husband David DeLa Torre of Phoenix; Kathleen Mendez of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Annette Mendez of Clarkdale; a son Kevin and his wife Rachel Mendez of Camp Verde; a sister Katherine Marquez of Clarkdale; a sister-in-law Joan Hood of Chandler; two brothers, Willie Hood and his wife Julia of Clarkdale and Harry Hood, Jr. and his wife Janet of Clarkdale; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, September 8 in the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwod at 6 PM. A Funeral Mass wil be held on Tuesday, September 9 in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Camp Verde at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
