Henry "Matt" Mathis Moore died Sunday January 15, 2012 at his home in Cottonwood. He was 74 years old. He was born October 9, 1937 in Fort Worth, TX to Clyde and Oranee (Rupard) Moore. Matt was a machinist and Journeyman painter before moving to San Jose, California in 1959. He later moved his family to Humbolt County where he and his wife resided for 31 years. Matt attended Humbolt State University, graduating with a BA in music, business and humanities in 1977. Matt was a music minister, youth group leader and youth choir director. He always loved music and dedicated over 50 years of his life to directing music and participating in music ministries. If he wasn\u0027t leading the music he was singing it in different groups and choirs. Matt was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He gave so much positive energy and kindness to everyone he met. His bright smile, beautiful singing voice and kind words will be missed always. Matt was predeceased by his sister, Eva R. Throwell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty; his son Timothy (Tina) Moore of Texas; his two daughters Deborah (Paul) Zeni of California and Janet Moore of Texas; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, January 20 in the Westcott Funeral Home from 5 7 PM. Services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Verde Baptist Church 102 S.
