Henry Parker

Henry Parker "Hank", 90, resident of Cornville, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2007. Henry was born November 16, 1916 in Brewster, Kansas to John Parker and Hattie Mae (Brown) Parker. As a child they moved via covered wagon to Dove Creek, Colorado. There he grew up and met Erma Fink. They were married December 21, 1936. They were the proud parents of eight children. As a young man, Henry worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and then mined uranium during WWII and into the early 1950's. In 1953 he took his family to Flagstaff; where he was employed as the City Housing Maintenance Supervisor for 28 years. He retired in 1981 and moved to Cornville. Henry and Erma were avid square-dancers, rock hounds and campers. It was through these many activities that they gained many lifetime friends. Henry is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Parker; and his brothers, Ted, Marvin, Eugene, and Charles. He leaves behind his loving wife, Erma of Cornville, Arizona; his brother, George Parker of Milan, New Mexico; his sons, Howard Parker of Houston, Texas, Darrold Parker with his wife, Joy of Mesa, Arizona, Roy Parker with his wife, Tina of Baker, Florida, Stanley Parker of Phoenix, Arizona, and Rick Parker with his wife, Laura of Flagstaff, Arizona; his daughters, Dorothy Parker of Cottonwood, Arizona, and Pola Stradling with her husband, Allen of Salt Lake City, Utah; 25 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. A Visitation will be held at Westcott Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 5:00-7:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:30am with a one-half hour prior viewing at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cottonwood.
