Longtime Cornville Resident Herb Browning passed away at his home on Dec 28, 2010. Herb was born on Feb 1, 1930 on a farm in Eastern Colorado to Charley and Marie (Davidson) Browning. He was married on March 28, 1948 to Iona May Reitmeyer. He worked for the Colorado Division of Wildlife for more than 33 years. He spent 5 yrs as a Fish Culturist and served the remaining years as a Wildlife Conservation Officer. He retired to Cornville in 1985. Herb was preceded in death by his beloved wife Iona, his parents, a daughter Patty Sue, and his brothers Dwight and Ron. Herb was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, most recently the Mountain View United Methodist Church in Cottonwood. He served on various committees for his churches through the years. He is survived by daughters Penny (Andy) Planeta, Cindy (Richard) Phillips, six grand children and seven great grand children. Herb wanted to be remembered as a man who loved his family dearly, who always tried to be fair and honest in his law enforcement dealings, as well as in all walks of his life. Service will be held on January 5, 2011 at 11 am at the Mountain View Methodist Church in Cottonwood.
