Herbert E. Cooper

Herbert E. Cooper, 73, of Camp Verde died Dember 6. He ws born ovember 20, 1930 in Brodus, Texas. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. He worked for Dallas Smith Transport as a truck driver hauling automobiles for 35 years. He also worked for DBX Enterprises as a designing engineer and was much respected in Detroit at Chrysler for his designs of an independent suspension for diesel truck trailers. He also loved sprint car racing as a hobby and he and his brother and his sons owned the #1 car at Manzanita Speedway at one time in the 1960\u0027s. He also loved hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with his wife and family. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Pauline L. Cooper; two sons, Clarence Cooper and Doug Cooper of Camp Verde; two sisters, Bonnie Turner of Nacodogches, Texas and Wanda Parkison of Eugene, Oregon; a brother, Gerald Cooper of Camp Verde; two grandsons, Brandon E. Cooper and William D. Cooper, both of Cottonwood; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Sadie, Gabe, Lucas and Noah. A visitation will be held in the Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood on Friday, December 12 from 11-1, followed by a funeral service at 1 PM. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery.
