Irene Cantrella, 82, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 2, 2014. She was born August 20, 1932 in Irvington, NJ. Irene was a long time active member at St. Andrew\u0027s. She was in charge of the United Thank Offering for a number of years and was our very own Sunshine Lady. Calls from Irene brightened many of our days. As an accomplished poet, Irene won poet awards and several of her poems were featured monthly in a national poetry publication. Irene faithfully sent get- well cards, congratulation cards and "thinking of you" cards to many in the St. Andrew\u0027s family and often these cards included one of her inspirational poems. Irene was also was a member of the Cottonwood Connection, The Red Hats organization and a volunteer for the Paw Prints animal shelter for many years. Irene was a cat lover; she showed cats at shows such as Cat Fancy and Cat Love. She has won many awards including the Morris Award for Best in Show for a household pet.
