Ivan Neil Wooster, 65, was born in Monona County, Iowa. Ivan and Suzy relocated to Cornville, Arizona, in 2018 after living for 34 years in central Iowa. Ivan loved golf, the Iowa Hawkeyes, craft beer, watching Rilee play softball, gardening, the Chicago Cubs, fishing, his family, and most of all, his wife, Suzy. He could fix anything and often did whether you asked him for his help or not.
Ivan retired from a career in facility maintenance and people management, a career he started as a groundskeeper at William Penn University and ended as the Integrated Services Manager for Unity Point Health, Des Moines. In Arizona, he continued his hardworking nature, even in retirement, as the President of the Master Board of the Verde Santa Fe Home Owners Association. Ivan was the consummate coach and manager. He always got the best out of everyone whether they were 7 or 77.
He is survived by his wife Suzy, his children Eric (Lesa) and Marly (Cassie), his grandchildren, Rilee, Merritt, and Cyrus, and his siblings Bill (Freeda), Gean (Frank-deceased), Judy (Dave-deceased), Dee (Dave), Rita (Bill), John Jr. (Margaret-deceased), Vinton (Theresa), and Marcia.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Sr. and Violetta Wooster, and his sister Rilda (Randy).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Verde Valley Neighborhood Food Project.
