John (J.B) Gilding December 7, 1925 January 18, 2009 John Gilding passed at his home in Clarkdale, Arizona with his son Ken (Mike) at his side. John spent over 30 years as an employee of Oldsmobile. He retired and moved to Northern Michigan. After one snow storm too many, he moved to Arizona to be close to his brothers Ken and Don. Up until his illness he worked as a caretaker for Lampliter Village, where he lived until his passing. Some of the fondest memories family has of J.B. involve gatherings at the home he shared with his wife Dot. J.B. was the appointed cook for all who attended. His grandchildren still remember the peanut butter balls he would send at Christmas time. J.B. was preceded in death by his wife Dot, his brothers Vern and Kenneth, his sisters Lenore, Geraldine and Roberta. He is survived by his children Pam Low and her husband Tom of Georgetown, TX, Jerrold Gilding and his wife Marilyn of Charlotte, MI, Ken (Mike) Gilding and his wife Kathy of Crestline, OH and his daughter Vickie Bockenkamp and her husband Hans of Alameda, CA. He is also survived by his sister Kate Crawford of Leslie, MI and his brother Don Gilding and his wife Lela of Clarkdale, AZ. J.B. leaves 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A celebration of John\u0027s life will be held Saturday January 24, 2009 from 2 -4 at Lampliter Village Clubhouse. Family and friends are encouraged to stop by and share their memories of J.B. with his children. The family wishes to express their thanks to Northern Arizona Hospice for their kindness and support.
