Jack William Hope, at the age of 84, made his transition from the world on Thursday March 24, 2011 under hospice care at his residence in Cottonwood Village. Born on December 15, 1926 in St Louis, Missouri to Carl Clarence Hope and Camille Josephine Reese Hope, Jack grew up in the St Louis area with his older sister Betty and younger brother Robert (deceased). Jack joined the Navy in 1942, serving on aircraft carriers with naval aviation. Jack married Pearl Ruth Tucker (deceased) and was the proud father of two sons, Frank and John. He retired honorably from the Navy in 1966, and "being a practical, hands-on guy" ran his own business: a full-service garage, towing service and gas station in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He made a reputation as being a reliable and talented mechanic. Jack later sold his business and became the maintenance and housekeeping chief for a hospital. In that position, he was able to apply even more of his skills at handiwork as well as oversee the work of others. In 1971 Jack married Patricia Robertson Keim. The couple always enjoyed dancing and travel"taking many trips by RV. They also enjoyed socializing with their friends. After falling in love with the natural beauty of the area during a visit to family in Prescott, and preferring its dry climate, Jack and his wife moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona in 1987. A vital, busy, active man, Jack\u0027s entrepreneurial spirit led him to set up a vending business, which he ran until 2003. Jack enjoyed his health and going to morning coffee with the guys and best friend Don Schandelmeier, and keeping his RV running for trips to enjoy discovering Arizona. Jack and Patricia attended the Unity Church of Prescott. In 2007, Jack and his wife moved to Cottonwood. Jack wanted to express his thanks to all who have been friends to him and who have helped him in his life, with his characteristic warm greeting: "It\u0027s good to see your smiling face." Jack is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, his sons Frank (Teresa) of Bernalillo, New Mexico and John (Lynda) of Santa Clarita, California and his grandchildren Shannon (David), Jason, Stephen, and Heather; and his great grandchildren Kaley and Landen, his sister Betty Martin of Maryland Heights, Missouri, and nephew Lowell Fletcher (Pat) of Pacific, Missouri. Jack is held in loving memory as well by his step children David, Valerie, Janet (Ramsey) and Beverly (Perry) and grandchildren Jeffrey (Stacey), Daniel, Michael, Sami, Mark and John. Jack will be remembered in at a memorial service to be held later at Cottonwood Village. In his memory please consider a donation to Hospice Compassus 70 Bell Rock Plaza, Suite A Sedona, AZ 86351.
