Jack R. Jewell, 90, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2006. Jack was born on December 26, 1915 to John T. and Mary "Essie" (Armstrong) Jewell in Bisbee, Arizona. He was a graduate of Long Beach High School, and then received his Bachelor's Degree in plumbing from the Community College. This was the profession he dedicated 60 years of his life to. He retired teaching plumbing at the California Youth Authority. Jack was elected the 1976 Exalted Ruler for the Elks Lodge in Clarkdale, Arizona. He and his wife, Mabel, loved to travel, and when he was home he enjoyed fishing, gardening, football and the horse races. He was a great teacher of many things, and he was a wonderful father and grandfather who told the most fabulous stories of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mabel R. Jewell. He leaves behind his son, Richard J. Jewell with his wife, Barbara of Cottonwood; two daughters, Jessie L. Joy with her husband, David of Cottonwood, and Susan A. Hyatt with her husband, Johnny of California; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Private services where held in Jack's Honor.
