Jacqueline Weirick Adessa

Jacqueline Weirick Adessa, 81, of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2005.She was born in Cortland, New York on January 9, 1924 to Thomas and Louise Weirick. She was a graduate of Cortland High School and in 1974 Jacqueline received an Associates Degree from Auburn Community College. Over the years, she had worked as a home health nurse and at the time of her retirement, she was working as a teaching assistant. When her children were of school age she had been a headstart volunteer and had served as President of the Parent Teachers Association in Moravia, New York. Mrs. Adessa, was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. She also enjoyed flowers, crossword puzzles, swimming, needlepoint and music. She is survived by four sons: Chet Adessa of Kapolei, HI; Michael Adessa of Tempe, AZ; Tom Adessa of Auburn; Brian Adessa of Nichols, NY; four daughters: Danielle Brigandi of Liverpool, NY; Victoria Adessa of Cottonwood, AZ; Renee Powers of Hellertown, PA; Mary Corman of Springtown, PA; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her husband of 56 years Chester James Adessa, Sr. preceded her in death. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 2nd, at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary\u0027s Catholic Church in Cortland, New York. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary\u0027s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be sent to the American Heart Association Women\u0027s Research, Maricopa Division 2929 So. 48th Street, Tempe, AZ 85282. Westcott Funeral Home of Cottonwood, AZ is assisting with arrangements.
