James Oliver Ash, 80 of Camp Verde, passed away on November 8, 2017. He was born on August 13, 1937 in Akron, Ohio to Oliver Jacob Ash and Rose Mary Ash. James attended school in Glendale then onto ASU from 1956-1959. He served his country in the Marines. James worked for Allied Signal. He sang in Orpheus Choir, was President of the Camp Verde Library Endowment, volunteer for the Salvation Army, Math tutor for Camp Verde High School and AARP Tax Volunteer. James belonged to Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking. James was preceded in death by his parents Oliver Pappy and Rose Mary Gay and brother Lester Ash. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Yona Ash of Camp Verde; sons Scot Ash (Jodi) of Scottsdale and Kenneth Kit Lillestrand of Las Vegas; daughters Jami Ash (Kerri) of Phoenix and Melony Parent of Santa Barbara, CA; brother Stanley Ash (Lavonne) of Ashville, NC and 4 grandchildren. Services will be held at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 330 Scenic Dr. in Clarkdale on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:00am.
