James Hutchins

James "Jim" Hutchins, 77, of Cottonwood died Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was born April 24, 1935 in Hillsboro, Illinois. He attended local Hillsboro schools and attended Southern Illinois University. Mr. Hutchins owned his own business "Shining Example Floor Care" in Farmington, Missouri. For the last years, he has served as the business manager of the Sedona Elks Lodge #2291. He was an honorary life member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, serving as Exalted Ruler two times. He also held many Elks offices, contributed many talents and volunteer hours to the Elks. He was the organizer of the annual Elks Thanksgiving dinner. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona where he served as a Eucharistic minister. Mr. Hutchins loved golf and volunteer work. He was a major Chicago Cubs fan who had a lifetime interest and attended many games. He will be remembered as loving and supportive parent of eight children, nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Mr. Hutchins was preceded in death by a son, Christopher. He leaves his wife of thirty-six years Deanna "Dee" Hutchins; his sons Stephen (wife Paula) of Illinois, Michael (wife Genevieve) of Kentucky, Jerry of Afghanistan; daughters, Cynthia of Indiana, Leigh Ann (husband Paul) of California, Kelly of Washington, and Dana of Arizona; a brother Eugene of Missouri and a sister Peggy of Illinois; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will held Saturday, July 21 in St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona at 10:30 AM. An online guestbook is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
