James A. R. Wilde, 85, of Cottonwood died February 27. He was born March 8, 1924 in Portsmouth, United Kingdom, the son of Albert Edgar Wilde and Amelia (Cunningham) Wilde. He served with the British Armed Forces with 20 years of service and was honored by the Queen. He was a flying ace in the Battle of Britain. He also worked as a computer scientist and engineer. He was an active volunteer at the Red Rock State Park, the Old Town Mission, the Center for Creative Education and served on the Board of Camelback Hospitals. He was a member of the Spirit of Joy Church and a licensed basketball referee. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Kay Wilde; two brothers, Jimmy Wilde and Alan Wilde, both of England. A memorial service will be held Monday March 8 in the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church at 1:00 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 101 S.
