Jewel Bernice Valdez

Jewel Bernice Valdez, 77, resident of Clarkdale, passed away at home on Thursday, August 9, 2007. She was born November 16, 1929 in West Blockton, Alabama to Claude and Aria LaNora (Reed) Clark. Professionally, Bernice worked as a waitress. She was a member of the M.M.M. (Mater Misericordiae Mission). She enjoyed shopping, cooking, gardening and home dcor. Her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother and running her household. She is preceded in death by her sister, Linnie Clark. Bernice leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Jesus "Jess" Valdez of Clarkdale; three sons, Anthony Valdez with his wife, Ami of Tucson, Timothy Valdez of Chile, South America, and Raymond Bishop of Lake Montezuma; her sister, Virginia Lawry of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren. The Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 10:30am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Latin Mass to follow at 11:00am.
