Joe Contreras

Joe "Chuy" Contreras, 71 of Cottonwood, passed away April 6. He was born on March 19, 1939 in Clarkdale to Julio and Concepcion Contreras. Joe attended Mingus Union High School. He worked as a Greens Keeper at Village of Oak Creek Country Club and Rio Rico Country Club. He was an avid and very good golfer. He loved to read, do crossword puzzles, play card games and bingo. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Joe is survived by son Paul Contreras of Riverside, CA; daughter Julie Perez of Modesto, CA; brothers Frank and Vince of Cottonwood and Margarito (Margarita) and Alex (Ramona) of Clarkdale; sisters Mary Chavez, Velia Mena (Gino) and Martina Luna (Daniel) of Cottonwood and Conchita Sepulveda of Upland, CA.; and 5 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 5-7 pm with Rosary at 6pm at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
