John Robert "English John" Armstrong, of Jerome, passed away February 12, 2016. He was born April 27, 1959 in Yorkshire, England "on the moors". John spent several years in his late teens in a "kibbutz in Israel and later on the Isle of Sark". In 1983 John visited his sister Alison in Jerome and stayed. He had the Cactus Shop in Jerome and the Cottage Inn Bed and Breakfast. He was a board member and president of the Jerome Historical Society from 1985 until 2014. John went to Show Low to help with the clean-up after the fires. He was guardian of the US Constitution when it toured the United States. John was the proud owner of two "newfie" pups, Jack and Bella. He leaves behind his partner Al Palmieri; sisters Alison Tomlinson and Frances Hainsworth; nieces and nephews Nina, Luke, Catherine, Hannah and Sam.
