John Webster Bertrand, 84, of Cottonwood died April 9. He was born October 27, 1918 in Superior, Washington. Mr. Bertrand retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service with the rank of Major and was a veteran of World War II. He was employed in civil service for 10 years. He lived in Snow Hill, Maryland for 28 years and was with the Sheriff\u0027s Department there. He was a docent at the Salisbury, Maryland Zoo for several years. Mr. Bertrand was a resident of Cottonwood Village where he was active and much loved by the other residents and the staff. He leaves two daughters, Suzanne C. Black of Flagstaff and Barbara E. Clarke of Los Banos, California. He also leaves two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Juliette Bertrand. There are no public services planned. Westcott Funeral Home directed these arrangements.
