John Russell Kor of Cornville died on Thursday, January 9, 2014. He was 46 years old. John was born on March 1, 1967 in Phoenix, AZ to John and Joyce (McAlister) Kor. He attended Catalina and Alhambra High School in Phoenix. After high school, John went to work as a house painter. Most recently he had worked for Nepenthe for a number of years, prior to that he worked for two other painting companies in Cornville. When John lived in Phoenix he attended Calvary Temple and in Cornville he attended First Southern Baptist. He loved to read and could play any musical instrument you handed him, just by ear. He had many natural artistic abilities and always got on with children and animals. When he was young, he loved to play baseball. John had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh. He was a perfectionist though, and believed that if you did a job, you should do it right. John was preceded in death by his father, John Andrew Kor and his brother, Steven Stubbs. He is survived by his mother, Joyce McAlister of Cornville, his sons, Brandon and Matt, his daughters, Heather, Amber, Sara and Toshia; his sister, Lori Dirks of Phoenix, his nephew, Chris Stubbs of Phoenix and three grandchildren.
