John William Lightbourn, 94, of Cottonwood died February 11. He was born February 17, 1910. He attended Savannah, Georgia Public Schools, Benedictine School, OSB, Georgia School of Technology, Pace College, American School of Banking. Mr. Lightbourn retired from General Electric Corporation. He previously had worked in banking, and plant engineering for Tungsall Electric Company in Bloomfield, New Jersey. A member of the OrangewoodPresbyterian Church, he served as an Elder. His hobbies included golf, swimming and gardening. His family will remember him as a devoted father. Surviving are his wis wife of 54 years, Matilda Evelyn Lightbourn; three sons, William Park Allen of Lake George, New York, John Robert Lightbourn of Maui, Hawaii and Lewis Anderson Lightbourn of Lake Montezuma, Arizona; a daughter, Evelyn F. Distrola of Phoenix; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister. A memorial gathering was held on Thursday, February 17 in the Westcott Funeral Home.
