John H. Pruitt, 67, of Cottonwood died September 23. He was born September 13, 1936 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was an active elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter`day Saints. He was known for his good cooking and inviting others to enjoy it with him. He cherished his family and especially his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. He was retired from the trucking industry and was a Naval veteran of the Korean War. He leaves his three daughters Linda Marie Pruitt of Pleasant Valley, New York, Karen Rene Deritis of Georgia, Sandra Lisa Pruitt of Millwood, New York; a son John Henry Pruitt III of Fishkill, New York; a sister Nina Beth Church of Cottonwood, Linda Hurlene Albanese of Sun City, and Georgia Ellen Ahrlich of Cottonwood; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; six nephews, Gene Groves of Cottonwood, Ray Albanese, Greg Albanese and John Albanese, all of Eastchester, New York, Chuck Ahrlich of Mesa and Glen Ahrlich of Phoenix. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cottonwood from 11:30 to noon. Followed immediately by a funeral service at noon. Westcott Funeral Home is directing these arrangements.
