John A. Seeger, 70, of Cottonwood died June 17. He was born July 21, 1933 in Washington, D.C. Mr. Seeger was a graduate of the Baltimore Public Schools, Baltimore Polytechnic Intstitute, Bethlehem Steel Corporation Apprentice School and Arizona State University where he recieved a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree. He was an Army veteran where he discharged as a Sergeant. He retired as facilitites director of Motorola, Inc. in Phoenix where he worked for 32 years. Previously he worked as a plant electrician for Whiteford Parking Company of Whiteford, Maryland and Journeyman electrician for Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point Maryland, He was a member of the Patapsco Masonic Lodge, the Dundalk, Maryland Grace Community Church Board of Directors and Elders, East McDowell Civic Association Past President, a Board member of the Parent Teachers Organization of the Evans Elementary School in Tempe, a board member of the Motorola International Facilities Council and was the first president of the Cottonwood Ranch Homeowners Association. Mr. Seeger also enjoyed golf, woodworking, art, travel and friends. Mr. Seeger and his wife summered in Flagstaff for many years. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Jacque Seeger; a son and daughter -in-law, John Clifford Seeger and Phyllis Seeger of Tucson; one grandchild Ashley Marie Seeger of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 26 in the Westcott Funeral Home from 10-11 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in Sedona Cemetery. VFW Post 7400 will provide military honors.
