John was born and raised in Plainfield, IL to James (KT) and Edie Thomson. In September, 1982 he married his wife, Laure and they moved to AZ in 1984 after visiting for their honeymoon. John was raised a mechanic alongside his Dad, who owned an auto repair business. Upon moving to Phoenix, he expanded his abilities to include diesel tractor repairs. Moving to Yuma, he added Heavy Duty Equipment to his skills. Moving to Cottonwood in 1999, he changed up his mechanical duties and utilized his fabrication and welding skills, among many other things. John enjoyed woodworking & fabricating yard ornaments. He also enjoyed watching drag racing, including a recent trip to the dragstrip to watch local Ctwd drivers. His other passion was working on classic cars. John was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edie and KT; sisters Charlene Pastore and Sandy Prodehl. Surviving are his wife Laure, brother Jim (Penny) Thomson in IL, nephew Toby (Jenny) Coover, Tanner and Tessa in IL, niece Kim Keiser, Justin and Joshua in IL; niece Megan (Matt) Meier, Lydia and Duncan in WI and nephew Dusty Anderson in MI.
