Jose L. "Chepe" Moreno, 73, of Clarkdale died August 4. He was born June 12, 1937 in Clarkdale, the son of Pedro R. and Petra L. Moreno. He earned a college degree in business administration. He worked as a truckdriver for the Cottonwood Waste Transfer Service. Chepe was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He loved to hunt, fish, play guitar, loved dancing, artwork, glasswork and mechanic work. He was preceded in death by Jessie Moreno. Chepe leaves his daughter Anna Maria Hernandez of El Monte, California and grandson Mark Hernandez also of El Monte, California; surviving sons, Pete Moreno, Chuy Moreno, Nene Moreno and John Moreno and their families; brothers Cuco L. Moreno of Cottonwood and Bunky L. Moreno of Tucson; sisters, Mary L. Quesada, Minnie L. Anguiano, Espie L. Anguiano and Lago L. Zunitch, all of Cottonwood. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 14 in the Immaculate Conception Church from 9-10:30 AM. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 10:30. The Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM.
