Joseph Orlando Peeples, 67, of Rimrock, Arizona passed away Sunday. August 14, 2016 at his home. He was born September 16, 1948 in Alliance, Ohio the son of Joseph Hamilton Peeples and Virginia May (Shuster) Peeples. He was a graduate of Mergenthaler High School, Baltimore, Maryland and National University San Diego, California where he received his Associates Degree in Science. Joe joined the service right after graduating from high School and served his country proudly and honorably for 26 years before retiring in 1997. He achieved the rank of ETC (SW) and served during the Gulf War. After his retirement from the Navy, Joe worked for six more years as a government contractor. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal (2), Navy Unit Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (3), Meritorious Unit Commendation (2), Southwest Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2), Navy Achievement Medal (2), Good Conduct Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal. Joe was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pomfret, Maryland and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included travel, trains, sky diving, amusement parks, telling jokes and enjoying his family. Joe was a special person who acted and lived honorably, loyally, honestly and with deep convictions. Joe was faithful to God, his Country, his Family and Friends. Joe\u0027s absence leaves us devastated and heartbroken. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chris Peeples and Dale Peeples. Joe is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Glenda Peeples; daughters, Antania White (Brad) of Rimrock, Arizona; Angiewar Good of Hemet, California; brother Danny Peeples (Irene) of Klamath Falls, Oregon; sisters, Vicky Drell (Larry) of Washington, D.C. and Babette Ortiz (Al) of San Diego, California; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services for Joe will be held at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, California on September 20, 2016 at 9:30 AM.
