Joseph Frank Richardson

Joseph Frank Richardson, 81, of Cottonwood, Arizona and formerly of Gila County, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2005. He was born in Wagner, Oklahoma on September 23, 1923. Mr. Richardson was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps. He had worked construction as a pipefitter/welder before his retirement, for all of his life, he was a hardworking and loving provider for his family. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Baptist Church and had served as a dedicated Deacon and layperson. He assisted in starting a Baptist Mission Church in Roosevelt, AZ, Punkin Center, AZ and on the reservation in San Carlos, Arizona. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling with the motor home, gardening, sports and he loved to talk and spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Golda Lucille Richardson; a son Nils, daughter in law Shirley of Burlington, NJ; daughter Dora Taggart and son in law Jack of Cottonwood; daughter Kathy Thomas and son in law Mark of Port Orchard, WA; and stepchildren: David, Linda and Kenny; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and four great-step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Carolyn Weatherford Richardson in 1973, his parents: Robert and Dora, and his eight brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 5th at 2:00 p.m. at the Westcott Funeral Home 1013 E. Mingus Avenue Cottonwood. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, August 6th at 12:00(Noon) at Mountain Breeze Memorial Garden located outside of Miami, Arizona.
