Joyce E. Campbell, 79, resident of Camp Verde, Arizona, passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, June 6, 2006. Joyce was born on July 16, 1926 to Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Luke in Greenbay, Wisconsin, where she grew up; attending the local schools and graduating High School. It was also in Greenbay that she married and then discovered the joy of motherhood with the birth of her first son. At the young age of 19, Joyce and her small family moved to Tucson, Arizona. It was in Tucson, that she was blessed with two more sons and a daughter. During her time lived in Tucson, Joyce enjoyed working as a Dispatcher for the Marana Air Training Base. Following, Joyce found employment with the U.S. Forest Service and worked as a Fire Clerk in the payroll department. It was from the Forest Service that she took her retirement. With a young, but growing family, Joyce made her final move north to the Verde Valley. She was very active in her community. Joyce volunteered her time to many valuable organizations; of which some are, Meals on Wheels, and the Ladies Auxiliaries for both the American Legion and VFW. Joyce was also a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Joyce was an avid reader and a talented painter. She especially enjoyed oil and water paintings, many people have been blessed and inspired by her masterpieces. Joyce was a good neighbor, a treasured friend, and an exceptional mother. Her love will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her four children, whom she lived for and loved; her sons are, Robert Campbell with his wife Sheryl, William Campbell, and Gerald Campbell with his wife Denise; and her daughter is, Candace Campbell. Joyce also leaves behind her 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, whom she preciously adored. A Memorial Service will be held in Joyce's honor at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 781 S. Cliff Parkway in Camp Verde, on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 11:00am. There will be Luncheon to follow at 1:00pm at the American Legion Post #93, 276 S. 3rd St., also in Camp Verde.
