Heaven gained an angel on December 24th, 2019. We were privileged and blessed to know her as the kindest, most patient mother, grandmother and great-grandmother we could have asked for. Mom gave us unconditional love and showed us how to be good people. She always believed in us and supported us as we worked to achieve our hopes and dreams. Best Mom and Grandma ever!
Joyce Irene Brown Cox was born in Edina, Missouri, July 7, 1941 to Harold "Neal" Brown and Samantha "Marie" Fisher. Her family moved to Phoenix when she was 12 years old and she remained in the state. She met Gerald Frank Cox in 1959 and they were married a year later. She and her ever-lovin' Gerald were married 41 years when he went to wait for her in Heaven in 2002. Her two daughters, Debra Lynn Earl (Craig) and Juliana Marie Stanley (Pete) and the sons she gained by their marriage, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family.
Joyce gained great satisfaction from her career and work with the people of the Verde Valley. She began working with Yavapai Title in 1979 as an escrow closer, earning her Certified Senior Escrow Officer credentials, and held various board positions with both the Northern Arizona Escrow Association and the Arizona State Association. Joyce retired from Yavapai Title in 2006 as Escrow Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President and will be remembered fondly by many people she worked with.
Until we meet again. We love you.
