Kathryn Murray, 74, of Sedona died December 1 in Sedona. She was born February 8, 1935 in Phoenix, the daughter of Edward James Burns and Kathryn Jean Coffee. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and received her Masters degree in Counseling from Arizona State University. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for UBS Paine Webber and as an educator the Washington School District. She was a second generation native Arizonan. A member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Sedona, she was a member of Altar Guild and Daughters of the King. She was also active in PEO, Democrats of the Red Rocks, Verde Valley caregivers and the Verde Valley Sanctuary. Her interests were sewing and quilting. She was an avid reader and a book collector. Mrs. Murray is survived by her husband of 54 years, David Murray; daughters Bonnie Murray Travis (David) of Buffalo Grove, Illinois and Kristina Lee Murray of Phoenix; a sister Carolyn Somerville (Roger Miller) of Peoria; four grandchildren Amanda Lee Mowbray, Aimee Kathryn Mowbray, William David Travis III and Kelsey Jean Travis and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 5 in St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Sedona at 2 PM. The family desires any remembrances to be sent to the Verde Valley Caregivers, P.O.
