July 27, 1909 — December 8, 2003

Tommy ''Katie'' Dunn Jackson, 94, of Cottonwood was called home by the Lord on December 8 after a long and full life. Katie was born on July 27, 1909 in Coleman, Texas to Mary Margaret (Wall) and John F. Dunn. She married Frank M. Jackson on June 18, 1934. She lived most of her life on a rance in Denton, Texas. She loved her dogs and the ranch life. Katie moved to Cornville, Arizona in February 1972, to take care of her sister Ella. She found a new home and many wonderful friends. She was a founding member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Cornville. She was a member of the Cottonwood Sweet Adelines. She was known as ''Cornville Katie'' to many in her early years in Arizona. In 1986, she moved from Cornville to the Verde Valley Manor in Cottonwood. She was very content and ''her nest'' at the Manor was her sanctuary. The last several years she has been loved and cared for at Kachina Point Health Center, Sedona. The staff was so good to Katie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and six brothers and three sisters-Maude Lyon, Ben Dunn, Berry Dunn, Drew Dunn, Lonnie Dunn, Henry Dunn, John Dunn, Sarah Cox and Ella Moore. Katie was the ''baby'' of the Dunn Family. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and extended family. She had special friends in Louise Badger and Jean Day. They took care of Katie and she appreciated it beyond words. She held a special place in the hearts of John and Judy Dunn, a nephew and his wife of Wimberly, Texas. Aunt Katie was a very special person and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the First Southern Baptist Church, P.O. Box 387, Cornville, Arizona 86325. Services are pending. Burial will be along side her husband at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton, Texas. At that time, services will be conducted by The Reverend Leonard Griffiths. Additional details may be obtained by contacting the Dunn family at P.O. Box 305, Wimberly, Texas 78676 (512/847-2447). Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with these arrangements.
