Kay Wilde passed through death into eternal life on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Kay Brown was born on February 19, 1931, in Gillingham, Kent, England. She attended Southwestern Preparatory School and the University of London. As a young adult, she was in an acting troupe, and worked in a medical office. She married James A. R. Wilde in June 18, 1960. The couple lived and traveled throughout the world, finally settling in Arizona. Kay was an office manager for a medical group in Phoenix until she retired. In their retirement, Jim and Kay moved to Cottonwood where they began their second vocations as volunteers. Red Rock State Park, Old Town Mission, Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, and other organizations were the recipients of their many hours of committed service; they volunteered extensively until their health no longer permitted it. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim in 2010. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 2:00pm, at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 101 S. Main St., Cottonwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spirit of Joy Building Fund.
