Kenneth (Ken) Culver 76 passed away August 12th 2021 at home with family by his side after a courageous 5 year battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on December 30th 1944 to Alvie and Elsie (Raska) Culver.
He attended Beloit public schools. He enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Francis E Warren Air Force Base with the 90th Missile Wing Strategic Command in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 4 years.
He married the former Shirley Shipley in Eaton, Colorado on Dec. 8th 1964.
He then returned home and worked for Admiral Corp in Harvard, Ill as a packing line supervisor until the plant closed. He then worked for Taylor Freezer, a division of United Technology, in Rockton, Ill for 28 years as a service rep until he retired in 2004. He and Shirley then moved to Cottonwood in 2005.
He enjoyed traveling in their motor home, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing solitaire on his Kindle. He served as President of Crestview Ridge HOA for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; son David (Patti) Shipley; daughter Cindy (Roger) Hanson; three grandchildren Jered (Nikki) Shipley, Jeremy Burke and Ashley Culver; two sisters Genny (Bob) Bargman and Joan (Jim) Johns; and his new rescue dog Cadet.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers Mike, Richard and Arthur and also his feline babies Gizmo and Fluffy and Granddog Pnut.
Private family services to be held on Aug. 18th.
