Kris Andrew Metzler, 70, of Camp Verde passed away at home surrounded by his family on January 26, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Roseburg, Oregon, the son of Frank and Patricia Metzler.
Kris served in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He worked in the logging industry but changed careers later in life and received a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He worked independently for most of his physical therapy career. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Cottonwood. He was an avid fisherman and was happiest with a fishing rod in his hands. He was also an enthusiastic winemaker and had become adept at the art of winemaking.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna, four daughters, Jennifer Cross (Bill), Melissa Hall, Theresa Mills (Zachary), and Bobbielynn Medley (Adam), his sister Lynne Grady (Bob), 2 granddaughters, Maya and Hope, and 3 grandsons, Keirson, Will and Isaiah.
A memorial mass is scheduled for Friday, February 23rd at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cottonwood, Arizona.
