Lawrence R. Smouse

Lawrence R. Smouse, 70, of Cottonwood died December 16. He was born May 18, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Stanley and Bessie Smouse. He was a member of the Verde Baptist Church. He enjoyed fly-fishing and camping with family served in the Awana Program for 13 years. He loved working with the children, helping them learn the Bible verses. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather and a devoted Christian. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jo-Ann; sons Kory (Denise) of Cave Creek and Dan (Raine) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a brother Frank (Lola) of Phoenix; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 5 in the Verde Baptist Church at 2 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Verde Baptist Church Awana Program, 102 S.
