Lela B. McGaff, 96, of Cottonwood, Arizona died on Sunday, June 8th. She was born in Brookings, South Dakota on September 25, 1906. A former resident of California, Mrs. McGaff was a retired employee of the Orange County Sheriff\u0027s Department where she worked as a record and identification keeper. A very private person, she was a woman of great faith, and she dearly loved the Lord. She spent her time studying the bible and when she was able she attended services at the Verde Baptist Church in Cottonwood. In her later years she developed quite an interest in the sport of baseball. While the California Angels and the L. A. Dodgers always remained her all time favorites, she did learn to love and enjoy the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mrs. McGaff is survived by her daughter Beverly J. Clark of Clarkdale, Arizona; a son: Robert L. Elliott of Bull Head, Arizona; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; George McGaff and a son: Spencer W. Elliott, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12th at 1:00 P.M. at the Verde Baptist Church 102 Willard Ave in Cottonwood. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale. Westcott Funeral Home of Cottonwood assisted the family with arrangements.
