Lena Franquero, 94 of Cornville, passed away on March 7, 2018. She was born on March 28, 1923 in Paden, Oklahoma to Lloyd Davenport and Rosie Newton. Lena attended Paden Elementary for 8 years. She worked for Mingus Union High School, Black Hills Restaurant and Babbitts Grocery Store. Our Mother was an amazing woman, a great Mother, Grand and Great Grand Mother. All her kids were her everything until the grandkids came on the scene and we got kicked to the curb. She loved her church family at the Church of Christ in Cottonwood. She liked to quilt, crochet, can and cook. After she retired from MUHS where she did the baking, she started babysitting kids until they started school. We could not even remember how many there were, but it was a lot and she always treated them all like her own. She lived a good long life and touched many, many lives in her almost 95 years on this earth. We love you Mom!!!!! Lena was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Franquero and grandchildren Lauren Franquero and Baby John Kelly Franquero. She is survived by sons Joe Michael Franquero (Catherine) of Phoenix, Charles Franquero (Sue), Jerald Franquero (Clela), Harold Franquero (Tami) and Johnny Franquero (Sheila), all of Cottonwood; daughter Nancy Reynolds (Ken) of Cornville; brother Eugene Davenport (Susie) of Paden, OK; sisters Ida Mae Collins (Ralph) and Hazel Mayfield both of Paden, OK; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood on Thursday, March 15. Visitation starts at 10:00am with the service following at 10:30am.
